Fiber Optic Connectors

RF178132-01There are a number of different fiber optic connectors that have been developed over time and in different places. A particular type of fiber optic connector was extremely common in 1980s Japan, for instance, but is all but obsolete today. Most fiber optic connectors connect with the device either by a snapping mechanism, or with a screwing mechanism. Most are round, and small, usually no more than three millimeters across on their “ferrules,” or pins.
